As promised, I’ve posted some sample pages of the script in the script page section. Decided on posting chaper 1 which is only about 11 pages long, 10 not counting the splash.
Well, I did the go head with Kick Starter, still nervous about the whole thing despite this. Here’s the link to the project page:
Here’s hoping everything works out.
So Kick Starter approved UDC, but I’m still not sure. Again, this mainly has to do with nerves lol. I decided on moving forward with the forum, you can find it under the about page (drop down menu). My artist did some char work today, just awaiting for them to be handed to me. May be later this week before I actually post them however. Final Kick Starter decision from my end will be made this week likely on wednesday.
So it looks like we may be Kickstarting UDC after all. I talked to my artist about it and he was down I went through the proper channels beforehand and am currently awaiting an update from Kick Starter themselves on approval. Still not sure if I’m going to launch it or not, despite him (artist) giving the go head. I’m pretty nervous about the decision, which is really the only thing holding the Kick Starter campaign back at this point, well that and final approval. The artist (who will remain unnamed until he 100% agrees to sign on (yeah I’m protecting his privacy, lol)), told me that he could do some sample pages, meaning panel work will be shown at some point soon.
Just need to choose the right pages for him to work on. Speaking of more artwork, that’ll be coming sometime today. He has the day off and assured me that he would be working on some of the remaining characters, which again will likely be rough sketches at this point. I’m also considering putting up a forum of some kind. I have to find a way to block out idiot spammers before hand however. Expect a more concrete answer on this and Kick Starter sometime this week. If I open up a forum after funding a solid way to fight spammers, I might open up a chat somehow as well. That’s a long shot however to be honest.
Artist gave me two rough sketches of the updated versions of Kari & Kori. They’re posted in the artwork page, again this isn’t final, and he himself clarified to me that he was going to do other versions, I think he has Kori nailed down, but Kari definitely needs some work. And just so you know who’s who Kori’s scythe has the double-edge tip. I’ll talk to him about Kickstarting UDC when he presents something else within the next few days, he said he might agree to sign on as artist.
With the new artwork posted, I thought it would be a good idea to post character bios, check it out in the tabs.
As I promised, I’ve uploaded original artwork attached to the project, which can be seen on the artwork page. I stated late last night that an artist may have been attached, he’s currently working on a few characters for me. Still no decision on Kickstarting UDC, if he signs on as a full artist, then I’ll talk to him about what to do next. I also plan on posting 5-10 script pages. These won’t be in any order, that’s mainly due to an effort to avoid spoilers.
So, I’ve been looking for an artist for almost as long as I’ve been working on this damn thing lol. Looks like I may have found someone, he’s going to try some character art, then I guess we’ll see what we’ll do together from there. I’m considering Kickstarting UDC to at least get the first issue out so I can get a publisher interested. That’d be considered the test pilot issue, if a publisher doesn’t take then I’ll use the remaining funds to self-publish the remaining issues myself. Will update upon final decision, I’m also going to upload early character artwork (copyrighted material) from an artist who agreed to do such back in 2011 sometime today. Will make a new post upon doing also, still considering uploading the cover letter, since I’m making it a reward for the KS backers.
I’ve made a few small updates to the F.A.Q page, the cover letter which will include, the beginning, middle, and end of the story will soon be uploaded to the site, so keep an eye out.
Welcome to the official blog of the work-in-progress “Until Death Comes”, a comic book I’ve been working on for over 2 years now. If you have any questions look towards the F.A.Q. page. Artwork and script samples will be posted soon, so stay tuned until then.
